Trekking Equipments In Himalayas

Trekking is an out door activities so you may not know what kinds of trekking equipments have to carry trekking in nepal himalay.Probably you wouldn’t expect the same level of comfort as you would at your home. This is part of the adventure that attracts people to trekking. The trekker should bring and equipped with some essential things. Most of the necessities are supplied by Nepal moderate (our Company) during the trek programs. However you need to ensure that your personal belongings.

Equipments

If you are coming from abroad, don’t depend to much on local purchase. A list of the essential equipment are given below, cross check this list with what you are packing. Ensure that you have all the essentials without having to carry a heavy load on your shoulders. If you intend to go for climbing you must have supplementary gear.Especially for the climbing equipments are gone be expensive to buy so it will be better take on hire in Kathmandu.Some of the certain and basic trekking equipments are essential all trekking routes what I mention on this site.We have some recommended trekking equipments list for trekking in nepal Himalayas.

Footwear: Well broken-in walking shoes - these must be suitable for snow, thick socks, light socks, camp shoes.Light weight walking boots will be better.If available bring some spare laces.

Clothing: Down or fiber filled waterproof jacket and trousers, sweater or fleece jacket, underwear, warm and cotton trousers or jeans, shirts and T-shirts, shorts, long underwear, wool hat, sun hat, gloves, track suit.

Other equipment: Sleeping bag (4 seasons), trekking hold all or stash sack, day pack, water bottle, sun cream, sunglasses, flashlight with spare bulbs and batteries, lip salve, gaiters, crampons.

Other items: Insect repellent, toilet articles, diary, toilet roll, laundry soap, wet ones, pocket knife, tie cord, towel, sewing kit, plasters, binoculars, camera, film, cards and personal medical kit.

Clothing

Lightweight walking boots Bring spare laces.
A pair of track shoes. It can be wear in the camp at night
Warm jacket. Fiber fill or down Jacket should be adequate. This is especially necessary during winter season.
A waterproof or rain proof jacket with hood or a poncho. Get the one that is guaranteed waterproof.
Woolen shirts and thick sweaters. During winter months, these items are essential. Thick sweaters can buy in Kathmandu.
A pair of lightweight/ heavy weight trousers. Jeans are unsuitable to wear on treks. Cheap loose cotton pants can bepurchased in Kathmandu.
Heavyweight trousers are useful in the morning and at night when you go higher up to the himalaya.. Windproof/ waterproof trousers are necessary on all treks going above 3000m.
Thermal underwear. These are excellent to sleep in at night in the winter months thermal underwear are quite invaluable.
A tracksuit useful for wearing in camp and in the tent. One pair of thin cotton trouser.
2 pair of loose fitting long shorts/ skirts.
1 lightweight long sleeved –shirt is particularly suitable for avoiding sun burn.
A woolen hat to wear in the morning and at night. During winter it is an essential item. A sunhat and ensure it has a wide brim to cover safe the face and neck.
A pair of gloves.Especially good for morning and evening..
1 pair of sandals to wear.It will be nice to wear when you arrived in hotel or camp.
3 pairs of thin cotton socks and 3 pair of thick socks.
Bring some pairs of underwear..

Equipment and Accessories

Duffle bag or kit bag to carry to gear while trekking.
Daypack: This is a small rucksack to put your personal belongings for the day hike or trekking like toilet items, camera, film towel, soap, a water bottle etc.

Snow glasses and sunglasses
2-4 large plastic bags to separate clean clothes from dirty ones. 6-10 smaller plastic bags to dispose garbage.
Wallet and /or money belt with compartment for coins.
Toiletries with large and small towels. Toilet paper can be by in Kathmandu and some villages in the mountains.
Small headlamp and/ or torch with spare batteries and bulbs candles and lighter to burn toilet paper.
Snow gaiters essential during wither and all treks going over at other times.
An umbrella (optional), which is quite useful to as a sunshade and useful when it rains.
Reading materials, camera and film, game items (optional), note book, rubber band, pen and pencil, envelopes, a diary, a calendar, a pocket knife, binoculars (optional), a small pillow or headrest (optional).
